At St Paul’s we support a number of local initiatives, charities & wider Christian groups. In particular we support:
St Paul’s church in Gravesend hosts a hub of Gravesham Foodbank and many members volunteer. Gravesham Foodbank is part of a national network of foodbanks. We are one of over 380 foodbanks providing emergency food to people in crisis nationwide. The St Paul’s foodbank hub is open on a Monday morning.
St Paul’s church in Gravesend is a member of Churches Together in Gravesham. Within the Gravesham area there are churches from various denominational backgrounds, many with different styles of worship, but all with one focus - to see our community come to know and experience a personal relationship with God. To that end, Gravesend Churches Together co-ordinate various meetings, town centre and community events, kids and youth activities and other initiatives.
Word on The Street
Word on The Street aims to impact the community by working with the children and young people. Based on Kings Farm, the 'Community Hub' at 7 Warrior Avenue hosting regular job clubs, police surgeries, numerous youth 'drop ins' and coffee mornings. The vision of this project is to substantially transform the community it serves and reflect God's love to the residents.
Several church members of St Paul’s church in Gravesend are heavily involved with Gravesend street pastors, and as a church we support the initiative. We have members serving as Street Pastors on the Street teams, management committee, Prayer teams and regular giving. The street pastors are out on the streets of Gravesend town centre, helping, caring & listening on Friday and Saturday nights. You can keep up with the Gravesend street pastors on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/GravesendStreetPastors
We support Christian Aid, with Street collections, sponsored walk participation & annual carol singing.
